Sabyasachi Bagchi: Under his leadership, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has won the IPL (Indian Premier League) twice. In 2012 and 2014, he was part of KKR’s golden era. Starting the second innings of KKR, Gautam Gambhir received recognition. On 23rd March, the first match of this year’s IPL is being played by Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens. Their opponents, the Sunrisers Hyderabad, led by World Cup-winning captain Pat Cummins. Gambhir received the call to ring the Eden Bell before the start of the match.
The Eden Bell remains in the lower tier of the club house. Before the start of each match, it is rung by a former or current cricketer. Starting from legends like Sourav Ganguly to Chris Gayle, Sunil Gavaskar to Rahul Dravid – many have rung the Eden Bell. Now Gambhir is set to ring the bell, kicking off the IPL’s celebration in cricket’s paradise. If everything goes well, KKR’s mentor will ring the Eden Bell in the lower tier on to announce the match.

Gambhir himself is quite excited about first match of the season. Starting his own second innings at Eden officially. In KKR’s practice, he was seen discussing with Venkatesh Iyer, sometimes he pointed out mistakes to Shreyas Iyer, the captain.
