Exclusive: Delhi Capitals ropes in two star Indian cricketer for forthcoming season

Sabyasachi Bagchi: Despite of reaching the playoffs of IPL 2019, Delhi Capitals had some problems in their middle order & spin department. Ahead of next season Delhi has solved their problem as they signed Ajinkya Rahane of Rajasthan Royals & Kings XI Punjab’s last season’s captain and ace India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. With the inclusion of two class players Delhi would be definitely benefited in the next season.

Last season Rahane lost the captain’s arm band in the mid season to Steve Smith and Ashwin too didn’t do well for KXIP as well. And that’s why they have left their previous squads & joined Delhi Capitals side.

On being asked about the matter, while leaving Eden Gardens, Delhi Capitals Advisor Sourav Ganguly said,” Not only Rahane but also Ashwin has joined our team. Beside batting we will be benefited in our bowling as well with Ashwin’s inclusion.”

Indian Premier League’s Kolkata based outfit Kolkata Knight Riders tried to rope in Ricky Ponting as their head coach for the next season but he will remain with Delhi Capitals.”Many teams tried to sign him for 2020 season but he will be with us,”concluded Ganguly.
