Exclusive: Big news as East Bengal is likely to play against Manchester United on it’s centenary celebration

Anilava Chatterjee: Kolkata giants East Bengal Club’s centenary year’s celebration is set to become more glorious as Premier League giants Manchester United is likely to come to Kolkata to play an exhibition match with the Red and Gold Brigade. It is learnt that they will bring their No.1 side here & the match is likely to be played at the Salt Lake Stadium on July 24. The Red Devils will tour to Asia on that period of time and they can play in the countries like India, China & Bangladesh. The Bangladesh Football Federation wants to organize an exhibition football match on the 100th Birthday of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. And Manchester United will come to Kolkata after playing a match in Bangladesh. This is a great news for all the East Bengal fans when the club is celebrating it’s hundred years of glory.

As per sources a delegation of Manchester United will arrive in Kolkata on Wednesday after their tour of Bangladesh. They will meet Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina there. After coming to Kolkata they can meet West Bengal’s Chief Minister Smt. Mamata Banerjee & Sports Minister Aroop Biswas at Nabanna on Thursday or Friday. There will be four top officials in the delegation.

Beside that Manchester United is likely to sign Ivan Rakitić from FC Barcelona & Thomas Muller from FC Bayern Munich in the forthcoming winter transfer.
