Xtra Time Web Desk: Hosts England was held to a goalless draw by bitter rivals Scotland in EURO 2020 Group D clash at Wembley on Friday night. The 115th meeting between the both sides ended in a lackluster show by Gareth Southgate’s boys. The best moment for England came when John Stones hit the woodwork in the first half.

Scotland was lot more enterprising after losing their first match to Croatia. Che Adams alone messed up up three good chances, Jordan Pickford brilliantly saved Stephen O'Donnell's volley and Reece James heading away a Lyndon Dykes shot off the line.

The host’s best opportunity came in the first half when John Stokes header from a corner hit the woodwork in the 12th minute. Mason Mount spilled a scoring chance when he failed to get his feet from a Raheem Sterling cross.

The result leaves England second in Group D. In another match in the same group Czech Republic were held 1-1 by Croatia. Harry Kane and his team will have to win their final match against Czech Republic if they are to top the group.
