Xtra Time Web Desk: Czech Republic striker Patrick Schick scored an outrageous goal during EURO 2020 Group D clash against Scotland at Hampden Park on Monday. It was one of the most extraordinary goals scored in the history of European Championships. It is the furthest 49.7 yards goal that has been recorded at the European Championships since 1980.

Schick produced his moment of brilliance in the 52nd minute of the match. He found the ball just at the center-line after a Scotland attack was broken down. Having seen the Scottish goalkeeper Marshall way out of his goal-line, Schick fired a lofted shot from the centre line, to see the ball curl into the back of the net. Earlier in the first half, Schick had opened the scoring for the Czech Republic in the 42nd minute but the second goal will stay with him for a long, long time. The Czech forward celebrated the goal by running towards the crowd, who has been lively throughout the course of the match.

The 0-2 defeat left the home fans dejected as it was the first appearance for Scotland in a major tournament in 23 years.
