Xtra Time Web Desk: England’s new pace sensation Ollie Robinson is making headlines for all the wrong reasons. Robinson, who has had an impressive test debut against the BlackCaps at Lords ( picking 4/75) might see him getting dropped from the team for the second test which starts at Edgbaston from June 10 in the wake of the row for his racist and sexist tweets in 2012 & 2013.

England and Wales Cricket Board is understood to be determined to set an example as they try to root out discrimination in cricket. The ECB launched an investigation into Robinson’s conduct – particularly the tweets he sent in 2012 and 2013 which included racist and sexist language – prior to day one of the first test at Lords.  The investigation could even lead to him being ruled out of for some of the series against India too.

Robinson did apologise to his team-mates in the Lord’s dressing room after the emergence of his posts on Wednesday. He made it clear he wanted to take responsibility for his actions, which is understood to have gone down well with senior members of the squad.

But that is unlikely to spare him severe sanction by the ECB, which is particularly keen to take action given its anti-discrimination campaign that saw England’s players line up wearing t-shirts with messages in a “moment of unity” before play on Wednesday.
