ENG vs IND 3rd ODI: Rishabh, Hardik powers India to an emphatic series win over England at Old Trafford

Xtra Time Web Desk: A magnificent 133 runs partnership between Rishabh Pant (125 off 114) and Hardik Pandya (71 off 55) saw India comprehensively beat England by 5 wickets to win the three match ODI series at Old Trafford on Sunday. It was India’s first ODI series win in England after 8 years. Chasing a target of 260 runs, India romped home with 5 wickets in hand and 7.5 overs to spare. Hardik Pandya was named the Man of the Series while Rishabh Pant was adjudged Man of the Match.

India was in deep trouble at 72/4 with all the big guns – Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan and Suryakumar Yadav back in the pavilion. But with Hardik Pandya joining Rishabh Pant, India made a comeback. Both of them added 133 runs for the 5th wicket, taking the game away from England.

Pant brought up his maiden ODI century and then on, there was no stopping. He hammered David Willey for five consecutive boundaries to power India to a 5-wicket win.

Earlier, England was bowled out for 259 after being put into bat by Rohit Sharma. The bowlers did a good job especially with Jasprit Bumrah missing out with back spasm.
