The Australian forward is replacing Kyrgyz international Ildar Amirov as the previous foreigner failed to impress coach Trevor Morgan and the team management.

Chris Payne will sign for the Red and Gold brigade tomorrow around 11:30am and will fly to Siliguri after that. He may not train with the side tomorrow for heavy jet lag and will most likely watch the derby from the stands.
The Australian might make his East Bengal debut against Shillong Lajong at Siliguri after the derby. The Australian is carrying an attractive CV with him and thus creating great expectations.
The 26-year-old Payne was plying his trade for Sydney United 58 FC, a semi-professional football club in New South Wales. He has previously played for A-League outfits Sydney FC and Newcastle Jets.
