East Bengal submits letter to AIFF, Mohun Bagan to send tomorrow

Kolkata: East Bengal club submits a letter to All India Football Federation. In the letter, it is mentioned clearly that whatever decision AIFF takes, they must inform East Bengal beforehand and give them confidence.

Similarly, Mohun Bagan club officials will also send a same letter to the AIFF regarding this on Tuesday.

On 17th May, AIFF officials, IMG-R officials with all the I-league club officials including ex-players like Bhaichung Bhutia and Chuni Goswami had a meeting at AIFF house on the future of Indian Football.

A proposal was made in the meeting that ISL will be considered as the major tournament while I-League will be divided into two tiers and a new tournament  like Super cup will be introduced.

On the verge of that meeting, IFA with East Bengal and Mohun Bagan officials sat together for a discussion in a club at Central Kolkata on Monday. In the meeting, IFA President, Subrata Dutta, Secretary Utpal Ganguly was present with East Bengal and Mohun Bagan officials.

At the end of the meeting, IFA Secretary Utpal Ganguly said, “As the whole matter is under proposal stage, so we are not in a hurry to take any decision right now.”

Question arises automatically, then what was the need for the meeting. IFA President Subrata Dutta said, ” We organised this meeting to work  with the clubs together in the future.”
