Kolkata: The speculations were mounting and in the end Kingfisher East Bengal Head Coach Trevor Morgan resigns from his job as the gaffer of the Red and Gold brigade. The Kolkata Giants lost the last four games on a trot in the I-League 2017 and thus decides to step down from his role. Today, in the evening, the British coach sent his resignation mail to East Bengal Football Secretary Santosh Bhattacharya and other official Amit Sen to let them know that he wants to step down.
East Bengal Secretary Kalyan Majumder told the media, “Yes, we have got the resignation mail and there is no point of stopping him when he wants to resign. We have accepted his resignation.”
It is without a doubt that the pressure was mounting on the gaffer after the defeat in the derby and the last couple of games went bad to worse as he had no other way but to leave the job with a couple of games to spare in the I-League.
