“Dreams do come true”: Dinesh Karthik tweets after he was picked in T20 World Cup squad

Xtra Time Web Desk: Dinesh Karthik’s inclusion in the T20 World Cup squad after the 2019 ODI World Cup made him emotional. BCCI on Monday, has announced the 15 member squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022. Dinesh Karthik was selected along with Rishabh Pant for the T20 World Cup.

One year ago, he was seen doing commentary but the IPL 2022 has completely changed him. He has done a lot of hard work and finally cemented his position in the squad. Dinesh Karthik was even selected for the Asia Cup 2022.

The 37-year-old wicket keeper batsman made an incredible comeback before the T20 World Cup 2022.
Previously, Dinesh Karthik was dropped from the Indian team after the 2019 World Cup.

During the IPL 2022, he had made clear of his ambitions to make India’s T20 WC squad after a successful season with Royal Challengers Bangalore. He had back to back flop season in the IPL. But 2022 was his turning point. Dinesk Karthik took the role of a responsible finisher scoring 330 runs with a strike rate of above 180. His performances and hard work paid him off. His valuable cameos against South Africa and West Indies also helped him to regain his position in the team.
