Xtra Time Web Desk: Ace India batsman Rohit Sharma on Wednesday shared a piece of advice for Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan ahead of the T20I series against England starting from Friday.

The vice captain of India’s ODI & T20 teams wants Suryakumar  and Ishan to not take too much pressure but want them to enjoy their experience in the Indian dressing room. Both Kishan and Suryakumar received their maiden national call-ups for the England T20Is after an impressive IPL 2020 campaign for Mumbai Indians.

Having led both the players for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Rohit expects them to grab their opportunities when they come their way during the white ball series against England.

“I do not want them thinking about anything. Watching them closely for a few years now, I have realised that it’s important for them to come here and be part of this setup which the team has and the team has tasted success for all these years. I just want them to be having fun and understanding what this team is all about,” Rohit said in a virtual presser on Wednesday.

He went on to add, “Keeping in mind that this is the first time that they have been selected into the squad, they will be nervous, they will be thinking about performances and all that.”

While Suryakumar has been knocking on the selectors’ door for a while now with his performances in the IPL and the domestic circuit, Kishan recorded a stellar season for Mumbai Indians last year. The left-hander slammed 516 runs in 14 matches in IPL 2020 and struck at an impressive 145.76 including 4 fifties.

Both Suryakumar and Ishan played a key role in Mumbai Indians lifting the IPL 2020 title in UAE.

However, both of them are likely to sit out in the first T20I which will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday (March 13). With intense competition for a spot in the playing XI, it remains to be seen when will the duo get their maiden appearance for India.
