“Don’t challenge Kohli, he can even go to Oxford Street without a shirt”: Sourav Ganguly to Amitabh Bachchan on KBC show

Former India captain and BCCI President Sourav Ganguly with Amitabh Bachchan on Kaun Banega Crorepati show which was telecasted on Friday.

Xtra Time Web Desk: One of the most iconic moments in Indian cricket history has to be the Natwest Series final in 2002. But the fans best remember the win because of Sourav Ganguly’s famous shirt waving action at Lord’s balcony. Legendary Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan recalled that famous incident during the recent episode (Shaandaar Shukrawar) of Kaun Banega Crorepati which was telecasted on Friday, September 3. The former India captain and current BCCI President Sourav Ganguly was an esteemed guest on the show with former dashing Indian opener Virender Sehwag.

Recalling the incident, Ganguly said, “My daughter once watched it and asked me why did I do it. I thought I have scored over 20, 000 runs and so many cover drives, but everybody keeps talking about the Lord’s balcony celebration.”

The Bollywood Shahenshah felt proud of what Sourav did on that day at Lord’s and only a captain like Ganguly could have done that.

In his response, Ganguly said, “Don’t challenge Virat Kohli. He can even go to Oxford Street without a shirt.”

During the show, a clipping of the incident was also shown. The host asked Sourav what were his words during his animated celebration to which the left hander said he will tell him later. Bachchan then told Ganguly that he could lip-read what he said during the celebration.
