Do you know why Pujara thanked his ‘idol’ Richards?

XtraTime Web Desk: After winning the historic test series against Australia legendary cricketer Vivian Richards praised Indian batsman Cheteswar Pujara for his brilliant performance on Australian soil. Pujara also thanked the West Indian legend saying it means a lot coming from someone he looked up to.

The 66-year-old West Indian lavished praise on Player of the Series, Pujara, who scored 521 runs at an average of 74 with the help of three hundred.

“Thank you so much Sir! Means a lot coming from someone I’ve looked up to!,” Pujara tweeted in a reply to Richards’ congratulatory video in which he was seen hailing India’s performance Down Under.

Richards also replied to Pujara’s tweet saying, “Keep working hard like you always have man. Wishing you all the success!”

Earlier, Richards labeled India’s performance as ‘magnificent’ and said, “Let me take this opportunity to congratulate Virat and his team for such a magnificent performance Down Under. It was always going to be tough, but you guys came out smelling sweet,” Richards said in a video message.

“And to Pujara just magnificent batsmanship… I just felt real gold stuff. Well done to everyone. Magnificent performance again. Congratulations to the Indian team and to my good mate Ravi well done again.”
