Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India veteran wicket-keeper batter Dinesh Karthik was seen in a new role during the optional practice session of the team at Adelaide Oval. Karthik was seen standing in the adjacent nets and observing Rohit Sharma’s footwork while he was also seen having a word of advice for Hardik Pandya as the all rounder batted against throwdown specialists Nuwan and batting coach Vikram Rathour.

The Indian team had an optional training session with the likes of captain Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya and Dinesh Karthik turning up along with standby bowlers Mohammed Siraj and Shardul Thakur.

Hardik had an extended session at the nets taking throwdowns from Nuwan and batting coach Vikram Rathour. He looked focussed in the middle while batting. He would like to be back amongst runs in the crucial semi-final clash against England.

Earlier, Captain Rohit Sharma and Head Coach Rahul Dravid were seen having a long look at the wickets and discussing with the head groundsmen. Rohit was also seen doing a few shadows in the middle.

The Indian captain had an injury scare as he was hit on his forearm by a rising delivery from throwdown specialist Raghavendra. Rohit was in pain and discomfort as the entire Indian camp was seen as concerned. The good part was, Rohit returned to the nets after applying ice-pack on his forearm.

India team will be returning to the Adelaide Oval for the semi-final clash of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022 against England on Thursday, November 10.  Rohit and his boys have already played at the Adelaide Oval in the ongoing tournament, clinching a nervy win over Bangladesh by 5 runs.
