Internet Desk: Jawahar Vidya Mandir in Shayamali, Ranchi needs no introduction as it is the school where MS Dhoni studied. Situated at a stone throw away distance from Mekon Stadium, JVM has become all the more popular ever since the release of MS Dhoni-The Untold Story.

The former India captain still visits his school – more precisely the badminton courts whenever he finds time from his busy schedule in his hometown. According to his school coach Keshav Banerjee, “He still drives to the school in his bike during late evening when the school gets over. He still loves to play badminton to keep him fit. During break, he still prefers to have the aloo chops and tea from Sanjay tea stall.”

A huge photo with the collage of Dhoni still hangs on the walls of the badminton court. A message reads – The saga of a rising star.

Last time Dhoni visited his school was in December last year. The school children got overwhelmed to have the former India captain at their school. He spent quality time with the school children, signing autographs and posing photographs with everyone.

“He still loves his school. He always used to sit at the corner, few rows from behind and look at the boys play at the ground from the window,” says Keshav Banerjee.

It was Mr Banerjee who spotted Dhoni’s talent and drafted him into the school cricket team. The rest as we all know was history.

Mr Banerjee, who is now in Vellore for the treatment of his wife confirmed to xtratime.in, “He has decided to donate a sum of Rs 15 lakhs for the development of the hall of the school. The rest of the money will be organized by the school authorities. The hall will get a facelift and will be in bigger in size.”

Dhoni, was always good in sports especially in football and badminton. He was even selected for the district badminton team.
