Devon Conway rides on lady luck; scores a brilliant 85 in his first match for CSK after marriage

Xtra Time Web Desk: Was it lady luck for Chennai Super Kings' batter Devon Conway? The New Zealander scored a brilliant 55 ball 85 against Sunrisers Hyderabad, which was his first opportunity for the franchise after his marriage with long-time girlfriend Kim Watson. The South African born cricketer was benched after playing just one match for CSK in the on-going IPL season. He made full use of the opportunity against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday night at MCA stadium in Pune.
Conway’s innings was studded with 8 hits to the boundary and 4 sixes. The left hander was also involved in a 182 runs partnership with Ruturaj Gaikwad who scored 99 runs.
Coming back to Conway and his lady love Kim, the duo was dating for three years before finally deciding to settle down. Interestingly, CSK franchise had arranged a proper traditional pre-wedding bash for Conway before he left the bubble. He left the IPL bubble temporarily for his wedding with long-time girlfriend Kim Watson. The southpaw flew to his home country South Africa for the special occasion.
With MS Dhoni replacing Ravindra Jadeja as captain, Conway would be hoping he gets more opportunities to showcase his potentiality at the top of the order for Super Kings.
Conway was roped in by the defending champions at his original base price of INR 1 crore at the IPL mega auction held in February this year.
