Delhi Capitals’ players bats, gloves and pads stolen from kit bags in transit | IPL 2023

Xtra Time Web Desk: In a shocking incident, several Delhi Capitals players cricket gears were stolen from their kit bags in transit. The players realised it once they received their kit bags after checking in their respective hotel rooms. They were travelling after the IPL 2023 match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Saturday from Bengaluru to Delhi.

As many as 16 bats worth a few lakhs, pads, shoes, thigh-pads, and gloves were missing from kit bags. The bats belonged to DC captain David Warner, allrounder Mitchell March, England wicket-keeper batter Phil Salt and Yash Dhull.

After the players informed the franchise about the incident, they lodged a complaint about the theft. The players were left in shock after getting to know that their cricket gears are stolen in transit. This is the first time such an incident has happened and the matter was soon raised to the logistics department, police and later at the airport for further investigation.

A logistics company takes care of team kit bags and luggage and ensures that they reach in advance to the destination ahead of an IPL game. The players, as per the report, keep their kit bags outside their room after each game following which the logistics company takes over.

It seems nothing is going right from Delhi Capitals, both on and off the field. They are the only franchise to have lost all their five games and are languishing at the bottom of the points table.
