David Warner likely to miss 5-6 IPL matches; to attend Shane Warne’s funeral

Xtra Time Web Desk: David Warner is likely to miss few matches in the IPL this year. As per reports, Warner himself has decided to attend the state funeral of his childhood idol Shane Warne which has been scheduled at the end of this month, March 30th in Melbourne, Australia.

Warner expressed that he grew up idolising the legendary leg spinner, Shane Warne and will attend his idol’s last ceremony.

“As a kid, I had his poster up on the wall. I wanted to be like Shane.”

“It’s definitely going to be extremely emotional for everyone. There will be lots of people paying their respects,” he said.

As IPL will start from March 26, and State funeral for Shane Warne is scheduled on March 30th, Warner is likely to stay put in Melbourne till 5th April as per Cricket Australia’s directive of not allowing Australian cricketers for IPL till that period.

He likely to land in Mumbai on April 6. As per the norms laid by the BCCI, Warner will be in quarantine for 5 days as he will be coming after attending a public event. After completing quarantine, if his RT-PCR tests results negative twice, he will be allowed to enter BIO-SECURE BUBBLE of the team.
