Xtra Time Web Desk: Portugese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo failed to score in his much-anticipated debut match for Saudi Arabian club side Al Nassr on Sunday. Ronaldo’s team Al Nassr ended the Saudi Pro League match with a win against Al Ettifaq. Anderson Talisca scored the winner for Al Nassr.

The five-time Ballon D’Or winner joined the Saudi club in December last year after his controversial exit from Premier League giants Manchester United in November.

Al Nassr coach Rudi Garcia lauded Ronaldo’s performance in the debut match against Al Ettifaq.

“It’s a positive addition when you have a player like Ronaldo as he helps to distract the defenders, which is what happened with our goal,” Garcia told reporters after the match.

After winning the match, Ronaldo was seen going towards the stands and greeting the home fans with teammates at a packed Mrsool Park. The win saw Al-Nassr regaining the top spot in Saudi Pro League followed by second placed Al Hilal.

Ronaldo will next take the field for Al Nassr on January 26. They will face Al Ittihad in the semi-final of the Saudi Super Cup.
