Internet Desk : Barcelona continued their unbeaten streak to 29 matches as they held Valencia 1-1 in their Copa Del Rey semifinal second leg at the La Mestalla. Barcelona  broke a record set by Pep Guardiola’s side in 2011-12. Alvaro Negredo scored for Valencia but Wilfrid Kaptoum equalized for the Catalans as Barcelona proceeded to the Copa Del Rey final with an 8-1 aggregate.

There were plenty of empty seats at the Mestalla as the fans were furious with their teams poor performance. Luis Enrique decided to rest MSN from this low key affair.

Barcelona did not show the same intent as they showed in the first leg at Camp Nou . Rakitic tried to test the keeper with a long ranger but his effort sailed over the bar. Negredo opened the scoring for the home side in the 39th minute. Negredo received a long ball and tried to chip over Barca keeper Ter Stegen but couldn’t do it. Ter Stegen blocked the shot but eventually his clearance falls back to Negredo who get past the keeper and tapped the ball into the empty net to make it 1-0.

Valencia had a lot of  possession but failed to convert the chances due to lack of some poor finishing .Ter Stegen thwarted a Danilo free kick to deny the home side stretching it’s lead . Kaptoum  scored in the dying minutes to save the Catalans from an embarrassing loss . Barcelona are likely to face Sevilla in the final who are enjoying a healthy 4-0 lead against Celta Vigo in the first Leg.
