Xtra Time Web Desk: Boxers Nitu Ghanghas and Amit Panghal have won gold medals on Sunday, beating their respective English opponents in the finals of the boxing events in Commonwealth Games 2022.

Nitu Ghanghas produced a masterful display to beat England's Demie-Jade Resztan in the final of the women's minimumweight category. She was in full flow, punching her way to glory as the bout was decided in her favour unanimously by all the judges.

Minutes later, ace boxer Amit Panghal was equally good inside the ring as he outpunched Englishman Kiaran Macdonald in the men's 51kg final to win his first Commonwealth Games gold, having finished with a silver in 2018. It was a perfect comeback for Panghal as he missed out on a medal at the Tokyo Olympics after exiting from Round 1.

Panghal bettered his silver from the last edition of CWG at Gold Coast as he outplayed European Championship silver medalist England's Kiaran MacDonald by a 5-0 verdict in the men's flyweight.
