Xtra Time Web Desk: Two time Olympic medalist wrestler Sushil Kumar might face life imprisonment in connection with former junior wrestling champion Sagar Rana murder case. Sushil is the prime accused for the murder case. Delhi Police is considering invoking the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) for Sushil’s alleged involvement with gangsters. If proven guilty, the two time Olympic medallion can end up in prison for at least 10 years to life imprisonment. Sushil is now in police custody after being arrested on May 23 from Delhi. He was charged of the murder of Sagar Rana during a brawl at the Chhatrasal Stadium on May 4 midnight.

The MCOCA is invoked in the case of organised crime and prevents the accused from getting bails easily. It also gives the police time up to six months to file a charge sheet. If proven guilty under the act, the accused could face a long time in prison and even a life sentence. For Sushil Kumar, MCOCA could be used for his alleged connection with dreaded gangsters like Kala Jhathedi and Neeraj Bawana.

As per reports in InsideSport, Delhi Police’s special cell has arrested five people so far in the gangster connection under the MCOCA — Laurence Vishnoi, Jagdeep Jaggu Bhagwanpuria, Sampat Mehra, Raju Basodi and Ravindra. Delhi Police is currently investigating the connection between Sushil and Neeraj Bawana. Police have recovered a Scorpio, a 12-bore semi-automatic shotgun and cartridges from the car.
