Xtra Time Web Desk: After long deliberation in the Special General Meeting held on Saturday the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) top hierarchy has zeroed in on the tentative start and closing dates of IPL 2021 Phase 2. The cash rich league will now likely to restart on September 17 in UAE with the final to be played on October 10. The reason why the BCCI hasn’t announced the dates in the SGM was because of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) which is scheduled from 28th Aug to Sep 19th.

As per reports, the Indian cricket board will request the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) to prepone the CPL by 7-10 days so that all the West Indian cricketers are available for IPL 2021 Phase 2. The BCCI will officially announce the dates and schedule in the next 10 days.

The BCCI is hopeful that barring the exception of England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), most cricket boards will allow their players to take part in the rescheduled IPL 2021.
