Cheteshwar Pujara starts practice a day after getting dropped from test side | Video

Xtra Time Web Desk: In a bid to make a comeback into the Indian test side, Cheteshwar Pujara has started practicing a day after getting dropped. The cricketer from Saurashtra has started preparations  for the upcoming Duleep Trophy matches for West Zone. The most popular views about Pujara’s axe from the series against West Indies was it could be the end of road for him but the man himself is determined to prove everyone that he still has a lot of cricket left in him.

It is a fact that Pujara has not been among the best of form in recent times. Except for the test series against Bangladesh, he does not have a big score in test matches. Pujara scored 102 runs in the second innings of the first test at Chittagong. He scored the three figure after 1443 days and that is a long wait for a batsman of the calibre of Pujara.

Here is the video shared by Pujara on his social nedia handle Twitter:

Despite notching up tons of runs in County Championship Division II for Sussex, Pujara could only manage 14 and 27 runs in the WTC Final against Australia. But more than the scores, it was the mode of dismissal that was criticized.  With the West Indies tour, selectors have started the transition phase, by dropping Pujara for Yashasvi.

Pujara has been contacted by the Indian team management regarding the reasons for his exclusion from the squad for the two-Test series against the West Indies. It is not clear whether coach Rahul Dravid, the selectors, or both have spoken to him, but some form of communication has taken place regarding his non-selection.

By no means the doors of India team are closed on him. Like Ajinkya Rahane, he can make a comeback too with injuries, lucky breaks, any opportunity he gets.
