Xtra Time Web Desk : It was a memorable night for Pep’s Manchester City as they sealed a 2-1 win over the tournament favourites, PSG. It was a clash of superstars in terms of players and managers too where Man City emerged as the victorious side.

From the very start of the match, City had more control of the game with a lot of clear chances missed by their players. On the other hand Messi’s PSG was a bit nervy from the start which helped the City players to control the game. Pochettino’s strategic plans were also based upon the counter attacks, just opposite to Pep’s possession based game which further allowed City to control the match tempo. The first half was totally dominated by the home side as they had some goals saved by goal line efforts from the PSG defenders. Also Ilkay Gundogan, their star midfielder, hitting the woodwork.

But in the second half, PSG took the lead through Mbappe. It was a deflected pass from non other than Lionel Messi towards the path of the French forward, which he finished beautifully. But soon after that, Manchester City did the comeback through Sterling and Gabriel Jesus. PSG simply could not tackle the high pressing football from Pep’s men and and eventually lost the match. Messi and Neymar didn’t particularly had an effect on the match as they usually do, but had a few moments of magic.

With this win over PSG, Manchester City have now sealed the top spot in their UEFA Champions league group to qualify for the next round of the competition.
