Barasat: Peerless is on the verge of creating history in Kolkata Football as they are likely to become the newest champion of Calcutta Football League after they beat George Telegraph 2-0 at Barasat Stadium on Sunday. If East Bengal fail to beat Calcutta Customs by gap of less than seven goals (The match was abandoned due to water logging at the sidelines of the East Bengal Ground) which is very tough as well Peerless will become the only team to win the Trophy except East Bengal, Mohun Bagan & Mohammedan Sporting Club after 61 years.

Peerless is currently at the top of the points table with 23 points from 11 matches. Star foreigner Ansumana Kromah scored both the goals for Peerless and he ended the league with 13 goals.
