CFL 2018: Dipanda Dicka the hero, Mohun Bagan beat George Telegraph 1-0 to continue their winning run

Kolkata: City giants Mohun Bagan have registered their third win on the trot as they beat George Telegraph by a solitary goal in Calcutta Premier A League match at their home ground.  In the second half just two changes by Shankarlal Chakraborty changed the game of the Green & maroon Brigade. He brought veteran Mehtab Hossain in place of Shilton de’ Silva and Tirthankar Sarkar for Pintu Mahato. After that the Mohun Bagan midfield played a lot better and created a lot more chances. The hosts broke the deadlock on the 72nd minute of the game. A left foot cross from Tirthankar was headed to the goal by Bagan’s goal machine Dipanda Dicka.




In the 82nd minute of the game George got their golden opportunity but Stephen Harry’s shot was brilliantly saved by Bagan goalie Shankar who played in place of veteran Shilton Paul today. Just 4 minutes before the full time Stephen headed a ball towards goal from Subho Kumar’s free-kick, but it was again saved by Shankar.




In the first-half both the teams didn’t play well. Mohun Bagan missed a few chances as well. On the 7th minute of the game Dipanda Dicka’s free kick returned back after hitting the crossbar. After that a cross from Shilton de’ Silva was saved by George Telegraph goalkeeper Laltu Mondal.  The Green & Maroon Brigade missed another chance around 39th minute. A cross from Sourav Das almost went into the goal after it touched George player Mohan Sarkar. Their defender Iche somehow stopped the ball and kicked it away from the goal.




Just after 3 minutes the referee denied Mohun Bagan from a penalty. Iche caught Henry Kicceka inside the penalty box wrongfully but the referee didn’t give any penalty.
