Cameron Green, Mitchell Starc doubtful for first test against India in Nagpur for this reason

Xtra Time Web Desk: Australian all arounder Cameron Green and pacer Mitchell Starc is doubtful for the first test against India starting from February 9 at Nagpur. Both Green and Starc sustained finger injuries during the Boxing Day test against South Africa.

Green, who became the second most expensive cricketer in the recently concluded IPL 2023 mini auction will be requiring a surgery after fracturing his right index finger in his bowling hand. Starc may not require a surgery but will miss the New Years test in Sydney.

Green will take at least four weeks to recover leaving a big question about his availability for the first test against India.

Starc’s left middle finger tendon issue is not anticipated to require surgery. But the pacer’s availability for the opening game of the India series also looks doubtful.

Recently, Mumbai Indians brought the Aussie all-rounder Green for a whopping sum of Rs 17.50 Crore at the IPL 2023 Auction. And this is an early sign of worry for them.

Green has had a fabulous last week when he was drafted in the playing XI for the second test as well as drawing big fat money at the IPL mini auctions. The 23-year-old Australian has been one of most talked about youngsters in world cricket with his consistent and game-changing performances.
