[caption id="attachment_6326" align="alignnone" width="580"]Pink-ball CAB mulling a T20 tournament like Karnataka Premier League with pink ball .[/caption] Kolkata : Cricket Association  of Bengal is mulling a T20 tournament much in lines with the Karnataka Premier League . Although at a nascent stage , basic idea is to increase the popularity of local club cricket . Karnataka Premier League , organized by KSCA have already attracted a huge buzz in the domestic cricket circuit . CAB in a way would like to walk  in the footsteps of KSCA. Local cricket seasons  last tournament  i.e,  the P.Sen trophy  may make way for Bengal Premier League. The league will feature top 8 club teams . It will be a T20 format where the clubs could register outstation players . Much in line with the P.Sen Trophy , the proposed Bengal Premier League will also be an invitational tournament . CAB is also mulling the idea of allowing international cricketers taking part in the league for various clubs . There have been instances where players of the caliber of Sachin Tendulkar , Virat Kohli , MS Dhoni have participated in the tournament . Indian test captain Virat Kohli played for Mohun Bagan few seasons back , while India’s T20 and ODI captain donned Shyambazar club’s jersey in the P.Sen Trophy . Other notable names who have taken part in the P.Sen Trophy include Piyush Chawla , Mandeep Singh , Rishi Dhawan . Former cricketers Kapil Dev , Javagal Srinath , Ajay Sharma , Ajay Jadeja have all participated in the invitational tournament at different times . According to sources, due to tight schedule CAB could not conduct the invitational S.K.Acharya Challenger Trophy this season . The tournament was supposed to be played  under lights and with  pink ball . CAB is now contemplating  a new tournament like  the Bengal Premier League under the lights and with pink ball.
