XtraTime Web Desk: Robert Lewandowski scored four goals to help reigning champions Bayern Munich to win a seven goal thriller against Hertha Berlin in Bundesliga at the Allianz Arena on Sunday night. The European footballer of the year lived up to his expectation of being the absolute goal machine for the Bavarians.
Lewandowski scored twice (40’ and 51’) to put Bayern 2-0 up early in the second half. Hertha Berlin scored twice to draw level with goals from J Cordoba (59’), M Santos Carneiro Da Cunha (71’). Lewandowski once again gave Bayern the lead in the 85th minute only to see the visitors draw parity with a goal from J Ngankam in the 88th minute. As the match headed for a 3-3 draw, Lewandowski scored the winning goal in the stoppage time. The Polish striker made no mistake from the spot kick in the 93rd minute to hand Hans Flick’s team full points. The victory got Bayern back to winning ways after their record 23-match winning streak was ended by a 4-1 defeat at Hoffenheim last Sunday. The victory saw Bayern climb to the fourth spot in the points table behind RB Leipzig, FC Augsburg and Frankfurt who are all on 7 points each from 3 matches.
