XtraTime Web Desk: Goal from Robert Lewandowski helped Bayern Munich lift their eighth successive Bundesliga title on Tuesday. The Bavarians got past Werder Bremen by a 1-0 margin. The German giants have now officially been crowned the champions with two fixtures remaining. Bayern now have registered 76 points from 32 outings, 10 points clear of second placed Borussia Dortmund who managed 66 points from 31 matches in Bundesliga so far. It was Bayern’s 30th Bundesliga title overall.

Robert Lewandowski scored the only goal of the match just at the stroke of half time. He has now scored 31 goals this season making him the highest scorer of Bundesliga. The team from Munich was reduced to 10 men as Alphonso Davies was sent off in the 79th minute after picking his second yellow card. But that did not stop Munich from being crowned the champions of Bundesliga.

It has been a great season for Hansi Flick who took over as manager in November last year. Under Flick, Bayern has now registered 58 points from a possible 66 points. The Bundesliga champions will look to continue this winning momentum in the Champions League which resumes later in the summer.
The Bayern footballers could not celebrate the win they would have liked as they cheered their victory in the empty stands. It was a subdued celebration from the Bayern footballers with no commemorative T shirts being waved at the crowds as the Bundesliga matches are being played behind closed doors because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The subdued celebration from the Bayern Munich footballers were dubbed in German media as the “Geister-Meister” — the ghost champions.
