Bhuvneshwar Kumar likely to miss ODI series against West Indies due to injury

XtraTime Web Desk: Indian medium pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar could miss the upcoming ODI series against West Indies at home due to injury. The three match ODI series between India and West Indies will start at Chepauk from December 15. The seamer complained of pain to the team management following the third and final T20I against West Indies at Mumbai. However, no official announcement has been made by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Bhuvneshwar did not practice with his teammates at Chepauk on Friday ahead of the first ODI. But given his (Bhuvneshwar) growing fitness concerns of late, it is highly unlikely that the team management will take any risks by playing the seamer in the first ODI.

It will be interesting to see whether the injury is serious or not and if the Indian team management names a replacement for the three-match ODI series. Delhi medium pacer Navdeep Saini , Shardul Thakur and Khaleel Ahmed is in the reckoning to replace Bhuvi if he is not available. At the moment Saini looks to be the front runner to replace an injured Bhuvneshwar. Deepak Chahar and Mohammed Shami are the only two frontline seamers in the team along with Mumbai all rounder Shivam Dube.
