XtraTime Web Desk: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is unlikely to have any domestic cricket matches this year due to COVID-19. According to a report in Times of India the entire domestic calendar may be suspended due the rising cases of coronavirus in the country.

"In certain states, it's bad. In other states, it's worse. The numbers are unrelenting. In such a scenario, how does one plan anything over a period of three or four months, when you're not sure what's in store tomorrow," sources in the know of developments said.

BCCI President Sourav Ganguly had earlier notified all the state associations about a curtailed domestic calendar. But as it seems it is highly unlikely the domestic matches can be played due to the logistical reasons. Unlike Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) which is being staged in UAE, it will be difficult to create a bio-bubble for all the 37 teams. Getting relevant permissions from the state governments will also be difficult as no one would be willing to risk the health safety.
