BCCI spends astonishing amount for arranging charter flight for senior men’s team travel to Port of Spain | WIvsIND

Xtra Time Web Desk: The Indian white ball squad is now in Port of Spain in Trinidad to play the three match ODI series starting from Friday, July 22. According to a report, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has spent a whopping INR 3.5 crore to book a charter flight from London to take the Indian players to Port of Spain. The arrangements to send the players by charter flight by BCCI was to avoid any spread of Covid-19 virus.

The Indian team have reached Port of Spain from Manchester on Tuesday. They were joined by Shubman Gill, Sanju Samson & Ruturaj Gaikwad. Shikhar Dhawan will lead the ODI squad in Rohit Sharma’s absence. Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah has also been rested for the ODI series. For the T20 series, Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, R Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Dinesh Karthik, Avesh Khan and Harshal Patel will rejoin the squad.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma will travel to Caribbean for a short vacation with his family and will join the squad before the T20 series, starting July 29.
