BCCI President Sourav Ganguly inaugurates Lord’s like Durga Puja pandal in Kolkata

Xtra Time Web Desk: Bengali’s biggest festival Durga Puja is round the corner and the theme of Garia’s Navo Durga Puja pandal this year is Lord’s member’s pavilion. The organizers tried to bring back memories of the historic moment by inviting the BCCI President to inaugurate the puja pandal on Tuesday evening. Former India captain Sourav Ganguly celebrated the famous Natwest Trophy final win in 2002 by waving his shirt at the Lords balcony. Ganguly’s celebration will forever remain an iconic moment.

Mitali Sangha’s theme for this year’s Durga Puja is the members pavilion at Home of Cricket. The club officials had the former India captain visiting the pandal. Much to the delight of hundreds of fans gathered at the club premises, Ganguly was seen waving a tri-colour from the recreated Lords balcony. Also present on the occasion was state sports minister Mr Aroop Biswas. The entire event was organized by Satadru Dutta.

As far as the match is concerned, India pulled off an incredible heist over England at Lord’s with Yuvraj Singh and Mohammad Kaif playing key roles with the bat.
