Xtra Time Web Desk: In a bid to get the senior menโ€™s team prepare well for the T20 World Cup in Australia starting in October, BCCI has appointed former mental and conditioning coach Paddy Upton. Paddy has already joined the Indian team in West Indies and will be with the squad till the T20 World Cup Down Under.

Upton has been involved in cricket around the world in various capacities and enjoys a good rapport with head coach Rahul Dravid. Both have worked together as coaches on many teams. Dravid was just a player when Upton would assist India head coach Gary Kirsten in the late 2010s. BCCI shared a photo of Paddy Upton wearing an Indian team practice jersey with a caption, “Say Hello to our Mental Conditioning Coach – Mr. Paddy Upton”

Later the duo joined forces for the Rajasthan Royals franchise in the Indian Premier League and then for Delhi Capitals, where Dravid served as head coach after calling time on his cricketing career.
