Xtra Time Web Desk: Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Nazmul Hassan has said that a conspiracy is being hatched to foil the upcoming India tour. He made the statement while addressing a press briefing at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Tuesday.

The press conference was held after top Bangladesh cricketers announced a strike for an indefinite period until their 11-points demand were accepted by BCB “for the betterment of Bangladesh cricket.”

Replying to journalists, Nazmul blasted the players for going on strike saying that the demands placed forward were baseless.

The cricketers, in most part of their demands, on Monday emphasized on the development of the domestic circuit, better training facilities for all cricketers, and for a better and secured payment structure.

“If they do not want to play, it is on them. But, what’s the point? What will you gain if you (the cricketers) don’t play? I don’t understand why you have to stop playing for the demands,” he said at the press conference.

Terming the protests as a conspiracy to destabilize Bangladesh cricket, the BCB president said: “It’s shocking. I can’t even believe that our players can do something like this.”

He said as the BCB chief he has no issues in listening to the demands, but expressed dissatisfaction at the fact that the players spoke to the media first before informing the BCB management of their demands.

“If anyone wants to talk, the doors are always open for them,” he said and added that not only did the players not submit their demands, they were not also answering calls either.
