Babar reveals how Virat Kohli’s advice helped him grow as a batsman

Xtratime Web Desk: Recently Pakistan Captain  Babar Azam overtook Indian Captain Virat Kohli as the world’s best batsman as far the rankings published by International Cricket Council. After 41 weeks of sitting at the top Virat was finally replaced recently. Babar Azam is in red hot batting form at the moment. His side is also doing very well in South Africa.

Pakistan completed a one day series victory over the South Africans in their soil recently. In the ongoing 4 match T-20 series Babar’s men are leading by 2-1. On Wednesday at Supersport Park Babar played a superb knock of 122 runs from 59 balls to secure an emphatic win for his side. This innings is termed as one of the best ever played in the history of T-20I.

After ICC released new rankings Pakistan Cricket Board released a video where cricketer Imam-Ul-Haq is seen discussion with Babar regarding the same. In the video Babar says ‘ I used to take net sessions very lightly,now I have came out of that mindset. I have realised that if I don’t put importance on these sessions I won’t be able to perform better on match.
Regarding this matter I once had a chat with Virat,who made me understood the importance of net sessions. He emphasised the fact that if I get out playing a bad shot in the nets most likely I would repeat the same on matchdays.’
