Australia test team arrives in India without Usman Khawaja | INDvsAUS

Xtra Time Web Desk: Australian batter Usman Khawaja was not part of the travelling Australian test squad to India. Khawaja is yet to obtain his visa to travel to India. He faced a similar visa issue during the 2011 tour to India. The Australian players travelled in two groups to Bengaluru where they will have a short training camp starting from Thursday, February 02.

Australian batter Marnus Labuschagne shared an update on Twitter that they have landed safely to India. He tweeted, “Hello India, Let the preparation begin”

Aussie spinner Ashton Agar also took to Instagram to post an update regarding the team’s journey to India. In the story, Ashton Agar could be seen with Marnus Labuschagne, Travis Head, and Mitchell Swepson on board the flight.

The Australian test team will hold a five-day camp in Alur which is situated in the outskirts of the city. The Australian test team led by Pat Cummins are leaving no stone unturned to come fully prepared for the upcoming tour to India. In a bid to prepare well against turning tracks in India, a handful of Australian players practiced in Bon Andrews Oval in North Sydney. The wickets were specially prepared keeping in mind the conditions available in India. The idea is to be better prepared ahead of facing the likes of Ravichandran Ashwin and Axar Patel on rank turners in India.

The Australian team is determined to put up a good show having lost the last three consecutive test series against India. The last time the two sides met in a test series Ajinkya Rahane led India scripted a historic test and series win at Gabba.
