File Pic[/caption] Internet Desk: India and Australia played out a goalless draw within the regulation time meaning the winner of the 2016 Champions Trophy was to be decided by a shootout. India missed out on their three shots out of four while Australia missed just one and thus won 3-1. But the Indians soon lodged a complaint with the tournament director questioning the authenticity of the decision of the match referee to award a retake of the second shootout attempt by Daniel Beale after his original move was thwarted by PR Sreejesh. The Indian camp claimed that Beale asked for the referral of an intrusion by Sreejesh after the official time of eight seconds, during which he was required to execute his shot. This meant his appeal and retake of the shot which he successfully converted were both invalid. The official accepted to review the decision and the medal ceremony was consequently delayed by over an hour. After much deliberations, the FIH finally rejected India's protest and officially declared Australia as the winners. India return home with a maiden silver while Australia walk away with their 14th title.
