XtraTime Web Desk - The vice-captain of Australian Cricket team, Pat Cummins on Monday in a video conference disclosed that the Australian players will form a “barefoot circle” to promote anti-racism and celebrate Aboriginal culture.

Micheal Holding, a legend of the West Indies cricket criticized Australian team back in September when they didn't take a knee to promote anti-racism. Thus, Cummins revealed that this decision was taken after all the members in the squad agreed to do this.

However, this is not the first time Australia will follow this as the women's team has already done this before when Ashleigh Gardner, a member of Australian women's team introduced this.

Cummins also said that they'll follow and practice this before every matchday. He also said, “We think it's really important to do our bit and we've decided to do the barefoot circle”.

Cummins agreed they should've done it in the past but nevertheless they'll do it now. “Not only as a sport, but we as people are absolutely against racism. I think we could probably put our hands up and say we haven't done enough in the past and we want to get better, so this is one small thing we're going to introduce this summer”.

The fast bowler also explained why they chose to practice the ‘barefoot circle’ and not taking a knee. “In Australia, we think the most marginalised group is the First Nations people, the indigenous people. We think the barefoot circle is a great way to celebrate them. Some people might want to take the knee and show it (support) in different ways, we're absolutely all for that”.
