Asia Cup 2023: Will India travel to Pakistan? BCCI shares an update

Xtra Time Web Desk: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is planning to send the Indian team to Pakistan next year to take part in Asia Cup, subject to Government’s clearance. The Indian cricket board in a note to all the state associations shared their plans to send the Indian team to Pakistan to take part in the next edition of Asia Cup.

India’s visit to Pakistan for the Asia Cup in 2023 will, of course, be subject to the clearance of the government of the time, but right now, it is certainly on the agenda of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Pakistan is scheduled to host the 50-over Asia Cup in the second half of 2023 following which the World Cup will take place in India. And going by the AGM note. The BCCI seems to be open to send the senior team to Pakistan. Last time an Indian cricket team travelled to Pakistan was in 2008.

Suppose the tournament is not staged in Pakistan, there is always an alternative of hosting the event in the UAE, like this year’s Asia Cup. The BCCI note seems to be quite significant as the President of Asian Cricket Council is none other than BCCI Secretary Jay Shah.
