Xtra Time Web Desk: The Indian Cricket Team continued their rigorous training camp at the KSCA facility in Alur as they prepare for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023. While the players enjoyed a brief break on Sunday, they remained actively engaged in team meetings and underwent Dexa tests to assess their physical condition. However, the spotlight was firmly on KL Rahul, who is on the path to regaining full fitness.

Rahul, who recently underwent hamstring surgery, has been working hard to recover. Despite intense wicketkeeping practice sessions, the 31-year-old experienced some discomfort, forcing him to be ruled out of the highly anticipated India vs. Pakistan clash. Nevertheless, reports suggest that both the team and the medical unit are content with Rahul's progress.

Meanwhile, Shreyas Iyer, who was recovering from a back injury, is also progressing well. Although Rahul will miss the India vs. Pakistan match due to a minor issue, Ishan Kishan will take his place behind the stumps, with Sanju Samson serving as the traveling reserve. Rahul is expected to be fit for the subsequent game against Nepal.

Additionally, Jasprit Bumrah and other cricketers who participated in the India vs. Ireland T20I series will rejoin the camp on Monday for match practice sessions before departing for Sri Lanka on Wednesday, August 30.

The Men in Blue will commence their Asia Cup 2023 campaign against Pakistan in Kandy.
