Ashes 2021-22, 2nd Test : Australia Beats England by 275 runs to take a 2-0 lead in the Ashes

Xtra Time Web Desk : Australia beat England on Monday by a humongous margin of 275 runs in the second Test to take a 2-0 lead in the Ashes.

The hosts dominated the Pink Test from Day 1, as they declared at a huge score of 473 runs in the first innings courtesy of a vital innings of 103 runs from the Aussie batter, Marnus Labuschagne.


England in the second innings were however bowled out for a mere score of 236 runs in spite of a gritty 80 by Dawid Malan and a steady knock of 62 by the English captain Joe Root.


Australia then declared at the score of 230 in the second innings to take their to a 466 runs. England coming on to bat in the fourth innings got bundled out for 192 in spite a gritty innings of 44 from Chris Woakes and a hard fought 26 from Jos Buttler.


Jhye Richardson was the pick of the Aussie bowlers in the fourth innings as he took a 5-fer and helped Australia to clinch a 275 run win at Adelaide Oval. Also, Marnus Labuschagne was adjudged Player of the Match for his brilliant century in the first innings and his valiant 51 in the second innings.
