Xtra Time Web Desk : The first two days of the First Ashes Test at Gabba have been record breaking. While Pat Cummins created a record yesterday, Travis Head followed his captain to make even a bigger statement with his record breaking 85 ball ton.

The century by Head took Australia to the score of 343/7 with a 196 run lead at stumps on day 2, after bowling England out for 147 in the first inninngs. And the Southpaw was the center of attraction for the Aussies on Thursday.

The 85 ball hundred by Head is now the third joint fastest hundred in the history of Ashes as the south Australia batter now stands equal with Joe Darling in the above list, only below Adam Gilchrist and Gilbert Jessop. Head’s ton is now also the fastest recorder hundred at Gabba breaking Joe Burns’ record of a century in 102 balls against New Zealand.

Now, with this epic performance from the Australia no 5, it would be very interesting to see how his team could capitalize upon it.
