Xtra Time Web Desk: Afghanistan captain Asghar Afghan on Saturday went past MS Dhoni’s record as most number of wins as captain in T20I cricket following his side’s 47 runs win over Zimbabwe in the third and final T20I at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
The win also ensured Afghanistan a series whitewash, winning all the three T20I matches.
Asghar now has 42 wins under his belt as captain for Afghanistan in T20 format while the former India captain could only manage 41 wins in 72 T20Is. The winning percentage of MS Dhoni is 59.28 compared to Asghar who has a staggering 82 percent wins (winning 42 out of 52 matches as captain in T20I matches for Afghanistan).
Dhoni has led Team India in 72 T20I matches, which also include the historic 2007 T20 World Cup triumph. Asghar, on the other hand, has led the Afghanistan team in 52 T20Is.
