Image Source: twitter[/caption] Internet Desk: Afghan wicket-keeper batsman Shafiqullah Shafaq played an unbeaten knock of 214 runs in a T-20 match in a local tournament named Paragon Nangarhar Champion Trophy. The 27-year old batsman scored 214 runs in just 71 deliveries. He smashed 16 boundaries and 21 gigantic sixes for his side against the Kabul Star Cricket Club. Shafaq’s devastating innings helped Khateez Academy to post a mammoth of a total 351 runs on board in their allotted 20 overs. His partner Waheedullah Shafaq backed him well as he smashed 81 runs from just 31 deliveries. He hit 10 boundaries and 3 huge sixes during his play. Waheedullah is the younger brother of Shafiqullah who has already played for Afghanistan in the junior team and has also played for the A team. In reply, the Star Cricket Club fell like a pack of cards and could only manage to score just 107 runs before getting all-out. Khateez Academy won the match by a huge margin of 244 runs. Shafiqullah has played the last three World T20s in 2012, 2014 and 2016 respectively for Afghanistan. He played in the ICC 50-over World Cup too. The 27 year old is also well regarded as a finisher for his big hitting ability in the middle and lower order. The man scored a half century in just 24 deliveries in the World T-20 in the year 2014 against Hong Kong, to hand his side their maiden victory in World T-20 history.
