A visibly unhappy Rahul Dravid inspects Indore wicket on Day 1 | INDvsAUS

Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India Head Coach Rahul Dravid was visibly unhappy to see the nature of wicket for third test at Holkar Stadium. Dravid was seen getting into the playing arena to inspect the 22 yards at lunch break on Day 1 of the third test against Australia. Dravid’s facial expression was a clear indication that the pitch was not up to the mark as there was uneven bounce and took vicious turn from the first session of Day 1.

India was bowled out on 109 runs few minutes after lunch break on first day of the Indore Test. Aussie left arm spinner Matthew Kuhnemann took 5 wickets (5/16) while Nathan Lyon took 3. During lunch, Dravid was seen inspecting the pitch with the curator. There was uneven bounce on the wicket with a few balls bouncing high and few keeping too low.

It is not the first time Dravid has stepped into the field of play to inspect the pitch. He has a habit of assessing the pitch during the test matches. It allows him to gain a better understanding of the pitch, the nature of the bounce, and the speed of the ball.

Team India’s left arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja utilized the wicket to perfection as he took all the four Australian wickets to fall. The visitors at stumps on Day 1 are 156/4, leading by 47 runs in first innings.
