Xtra Time Web Desk: Danni Wyatt played a match winning knock of 89* off 56 balls as England beat India by 8 wickets with 8 balls to spare to win the third T20 at Chelmsford. The win also gave Heather Knight’s team a 10-6 win in the multi format series. Chasing 154 to win, Wyatt shared in a 112-run stand for the second wicket with Nat Sciver (42 off 36). She struck the winning runs for England.

Earlier, India women posted a decent 153/6 with vice captain Smriti Mandhana notching up her 13th T20 fifty. Together with captain Harmanpreet Kaur (36 off 26), the pair added 68 runs for the third wicket. Kaur fell to Sciver in the 13th over. Mandhana reached her fifty off 42 balls before being dismissed by Katherine Brunt to mid wicket for 70. Shafali Verma was bowled for a two ball duck by the veteran England bowler.

England’s collapse when chasing a similar score of 149 in Hove on Sunday will have been fresh in the memory but, despite the early loss of Beaumont (11runs), there were no such wobbles on this occasion.

Wyatt brought up her eighth T20I half-century off 33 balls, and went on to strike 12 boundaries and one six, with the opener particularly strong when hitting over the top straight down the ground or into the covers.
